PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INTEGRATION AND BETTER ACCESS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RIGHTS OF VENEZUELAN MIGRANT GIRLS, BOYS, ADOLESCENTS AND FAMILIES IN COLOMBIA

It is a project financed by Terre des Home - Germany, which is aimed at direct care for migrant girls, boys, adolescents and their families, to provide psychosocial support, as well as legal advice to mothers and fathers of families to help them both in the claiming specific rights and services for their children and a better fulfillment of their rights, as well as the prevention of possible risks of violence against them or other types of violations of their rights.

First phase

Oriented to humanitarian aid (2020-2022), of families that settle in Cúcuta and Bogotá and require fast, effective and free professional orientation and training to be able to integrate into the new reality as migrants, support for their integration into the school system, Since many of the Girls, Boys and Adolescents of Venezuela face difficulties in social and school integration, due to various factors, such as - among others - uprooting, possible traumatic experiences on the migration route, differences in school curricula / plans study, discrimination and stigmatization in Colombia.

Second stage

In the second phase (2022-2024), free and quality educational initiatives and pedagogies will be implemented to support the application of the rights of Girls, Boys, Adolescents to recreation, games and education, with cultural, sports and recreational activities, school reinforcement etc. Additionally, spaces for exchange and integration between Venezuelan and Colombian Girls, Boys and Adolescents and promote active participation and empowerment so that they are strengthened as social and political actors who co-decide and carry out actions in their local environments and can claim their rights, (activities, methodologies and approaches to non-discrimination and the promotion of peaceful coexistence, non-violent conflict resolution and a culture of peace.).

Second stage

Agroecological initiatives for food sovereignty and security

At the same time, in 2021 the implementation of agroecological initiatives for the sovereignty and food security of Venezuelan families in the State of Lara (Venezuela) begins. In a preliminary project, with the Regional Coordination of Working Boys, Girls and Adolescents (CORENATs), and the support of Crecando Unidos, in 2019, a solidarity campaign was carried out to promote food security in Venezuela, called "Siembra Venezuela" Taking this experience into account, this previous experience and the contact established with the communities in Venezuela, in the Lara region, in the two towns "Los Pocitos" and "Morán" will be followed up and expanded, promoting agroecological initiatives for 50 families (70 girls, boys, adolescents and 130 adults, at least 50% girls and women). The objective is to contribute to food sovereignty and security for the livelihood of families by establishing 10 production units in small home gardens for the production of vegetables and chickens. Activity that will take place in the years 2021 and 2022. Families commit to transmit / share what they have learned in their communities.
